Oil off Louisiana

Will they okay oil drilling off Louisiana’s fritter filled coast? It is currently being debated, however, after the recent explosion of the rig in the Gulf of Mexico people are worried and have the right to be. The rig that blew up is spilling 42,000 gallons of crude oil into the water per day. This however is not nearly as bad as purified oil that could eventually be within reach of the Louisiana coast, breeding ground for fish and shrimp, which will soon be decided.

Drilling off the coast would lead to large profits, but the chance of another explosion raises suspicion. It would lead to catastrophic devastation of the marine life and tourist attraction to the Louisiana coast, which far outweighs oil money. Oil drilling can be very dangerous to the environment. There are ecosystems surrounding the area the new rigs would be built.

Louisiana revolves around its bountiful coast. It has been known as the center for fresh fish, shrimp and crawdads. The spirited music and food brings crowds of visitors and tourist money as well. The oilrigs would strengthen Louisiana’s economy but it would take away from the culture that has lived in the boot shaped state for years.
